| We remain committed to high quality sound reproduction and audio engineering matters. Today our mainstay is AVI. AVI is a truly British company which serves the needs of informed buyers who are discriminating about sound reproduction. The product range comprises amplifiers, tuners, CD players and Loudspeakers. All the products are reference grade yet surprisingly reasonably priced. Pursuit of excellence is central to AVI's philosophy. Today there are very few true Hi-Fi specialists so we are happy to supply product all over the UK or even the world (to countries where there is no local distribution).
We supply ancillary equipment by other makers where necessary. This is usually in the record playing arena where we have much experience. Manufacturers we support include: Michell, SME, Project, Ortofon etc. We have a full mechanical engineering workshop which enables us to execute custom work. In this respect I think we are unique in the UK. We even cover 78rpm. record playing. We are aware of developments in sourcing and storing program material digitally. Nevertheless, music libraries stored on computers and iPods still need first rate amplifiers and loudspeakers for the best results. Sometimes a separate DAC is also required. This is usually where the one built into the computer isn't good enough. It is worth pointing out that an iPod with files recorded in "lossless" and using its on board DAC outperforms many CD players. That's how much things have changed.
